Prevention Tips For Eczema - August 9th, 2010

One of the best ways to fight any major problem is often to prevent it. When it comes to eczema treatments, oftentimes, they just don’t bother doing the job that you want them to! When it comes to finding a better way to treat eczema, the best way to go is to prevent the problem from happening in the first place. But while there are many tips about eczema, most of them are not legitimate. Most of them are just blowing smoke, and many have time actually seeing any results with them. So how do you prevent eczema in the first place?

The first thing is the obvious, moisturize, moisturize, moisturize! If you get a moisturizer or lotion such as Lubriderm, it is without question better than nothing at all. But there are better and deeper moisturizers such as shea butter, that can target one of the most obvious symptoms. If you moisturize, you will be able to stop much of the dryness and cracking.

Second, control your temperature gauges. The problem with many who suffer from eczema is that they let their skin get too hot or too cold. They don’t do it on purpose of course. It’s uncomfortable for anybody to be anywhere but the middle. But when the skin of someone who has eczema gets too hot or too cold, it can trigger certain receptors in the skin to react in such a way that would cause irritation and other common problems.

And finally, take a bath from time to time. When you take a bath that is luke warm, it will help to calm your skin without irritating the skin with high or low temperatures. But in addition to that, you will find that adding bleach or other antibacterials to the water can help you to prevent breakouts! Studies on bleach baths have actually shown that children actually have significantly fewer breakouts when they happen to use bleach baths and other similar methods, especially when followed with a great moisturizer.

Weight & Self Esteem - December 17th, 2009

One of the great problems I have found in my relationships with the opposite sex is self image. Now granted there are women who are comfortable with their bodies, but that number is not very large. What usually happens is they can find something about their bodies that they don’t like, it could be their ears, eyes, hair, etc. The problems they have with them can be very small too, such as they think their ears point out just a bit too much, or their eyebrows are just a touch too bushy. The most common problem women have though is they feel they have weight issues.

Of the women I know and come in contact with, I would say 75-80% of them feel like they could either lose 10-15 pounds, or at least slim down a bit. Not one of these women feel like their bodies are in fine shape, and they don’t need to lose any weight at all. As a male, you could try and tell them they look beautiful, or that women are supposed to have more weight than men, or any number of positive things. This does not however change the mind set of the female mind.

What I have found about the power of self image is that it can be a hard thing to gain, and it is much more important to people than how others see them. Usually if one has a positive self image, then most of the time others can feel that positive attitude and they will in turn have a positive attitude to your self image. The bottom line is, know that you’re beautiful. God gave variety to the earth for a reason, and every single person makes this world beautiful.
